Update-Part 1

So here is the beginning of an update on Alex and I since most of you last saw us at our wedding. Sorry for the lack of some pictures because I have not downloaded all of them onto my computer (something else I need to get around to doing) but I have a ton to share because there has been a lot going on.

First, Alex and I had a great time on our honeymoon in Washington. That truly is the greenest state I have ever seen and for good reason because it really does rain a lot there! (Pictures soon to follow)

After getting back to the beach we spent a week just hanging out with my family including Clay since he was still on leave from Iraq. It was such a wonderful time for my family and I am glad we had that before Clay, Alex and I left around the same time.

We packed up all our wonderful wedding gifts (thank you everyone for your generosity), mountain bikes. and surf boards and drove both of our vehicles 2,000 miles to Lakewood, Colorado pretty much only sleeping for about 6 hours at Alex's uncle Rocky's house in St. Louis.
I now know I can be a driving machine with the aid of books on tape as long as they are history based because weird novels put me to sleep!

Once in Lakewood (a suburb on the south west side of Denver) we moved into the home of Alex's close friends Mika and Andrew. They were such a blessing to us. We were roomies with them for about two months and had the privilege of being a part of their household when the welcomed their first baby-Brooklyn Grace into the world. I must say she is one of the best (and cutest!) babies I have ever encountered. Literally she could sleep through a hurricane. And she is already a well traveled baby because and three weeks old Mika and Andrew took her to Australia (his home) for a month while Alex and I sadly stayed in Colorado to hold down the fort. With the exception of some extremely brown grass I think the house fared quite well.

Baby Brooklyn was followed a week later by another addition to my family Savanna Grace. She is my new little cousin only 24 years younger than me! She is a beautiful little Gerber baby that rival's her second cousin Cole in size and he has 9 months on her! We are so excited to have her in the family and I can't wait to see her grow into a beautiful spunky little girl just like her momma! (Pics to follow)

Once settled into our new home Alex hit the job market full force. And after 2 1/2 weeks and careful consideration he accepted a position at Adam Aircraft in their quality assurance department. It is a great position right up his alley. His schedule is three days on and four days off which we really enjoy. Alex's only complaint is that he does not get to "wrench on the planes" as much as he used to. The company is a very cutting edge. They design aircraft made fully of carbon fiber making them light weight and efficient. Their prop plane is now FAA certified and they are working on getting their jet FAA certified and are relatively close to that mile marker. For any of you who want to know more you can look them up or talk to Alex because that is the extent of my knowledge on all that aviation stuff. I have seen the planes and they really are like nothing I have ever seen so it is neat to see Alex be a part of something that challenges him and is forward thinking. Besides that the company treats their employees extremely well Alex starts out with three weeks of vacation his first year! The Lord has truly blessed us.

Well that is all for now folks. More to come. May the Lord bless you and keep you!

Here We Go!

O.K. So I originally went with a blog instead of the knot.com page because I had the intentions of using it as my blog (also Alex thought the knot was corny and wouldn't let me create a site...so I had to be resourceful!) Anyway, now thanks to my friend Michelle's kind kick in the pants reminder I am now embarking into the world of blogging. I really do think this is a great way to keep people in touch with the goings on of our lives out here in beautiful Denver, CO. So I look forward to blogging with all you crazy people out there!
