Miss you like crazy...

"And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and the sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed."

Uh, we don't look like we have only had one hour of sleep...nope fresh as the morning dew...but we had great seats!

This Weekend...

This past weekend was full and fun! I had Friday off so I spent the day running errands and catching up on correspondence. I had a million things to return so I got all of that stuff done and then I spent a bit of time shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond. I thought I found a little cabinet to go in our bathroom but it ended up being too big so I took it back and got these smaller shelves but I did not like the way they looked so yet again I will be making a return and BBB. Friday night Alex and I went to Hacienda Colorado (one of our favorite Mexican restaurants). They have the best chimichangas. Then we rented a movie and had a relaxing night.

Saturday, Sarah, Clay and the boys came up to Denver to hang out. We had lunch at our house and had mom open up her Mother's Day present on the phone while we were all together.

Then we headed downtown to the Aquarium. That was a lot of fun but pure mayhem. Because it was kind of a rainy cold day everyone and their mother seemed to be at the Aquarium. Nevertheless we had a great time. And I got to touch the rays which is always one of my favorite parts of the aquarium. The are so beautiful and graceful.
Henry had a great time running from exhibit to exhibit. He especially liked all the sharks and really big fish along with the snakes.

Cole had fun looking at all the fish but he seemed to be more interested in pushing the stroller.

Sarah trying to capture the perfect shot of Cole who sits still for only a couple seconds at a time. You have to be quick with the Camera!

Henry got a ride on Uncle Alex's shoulders.
When Cole wasn't pushing the stroller Clay got stroller duty. Here he is patiently standing guard.

Henry was excited the ducks were swimming so close he could almost touch them.

Sunday we went to Joy and Andy's church West Bowles because Stella was getting dedicated. It was great to be there with the whole family supporting them as parents endeavoring to raise Stella in a God glorifying home. There were a lot of kids getting dedicated and they were all so cute. After the pastor dedicated each one of the children they played a slide show with pictures and a few quotes from each of the parents. That was really neat to see. What precious gifts from God and enduring legacies of his goodness. The pastor proceeded to preach a sermon on 1 Samuel for mothers day that blew me away. I have read the story of Hannah so many times but he brought the story to light in such an amazing way. I can only endeavor to pray and pour my heart out like Hannah did in such a difficult time for her. At the end of the sermon the pastor had all the kids under 17 gather in the aisles and then had all the women surround them and then had all the men surround the women. We all laid hands on each other and prayed for the children. It was such a special moment it brought me to tears. Such a picture of God's design for the family. Then they played a mother's day slide show that just made me bawl. I am so thankful for my mom and the sacrifices she made for me and my sister. I have so many wonderful memories of growing up and I am so thankful for her friendship and the example that she is to me.

After church we went over to the Hummels house and and a big mothers day dinner with the whole family. It was a lot of fun to hang out with everyone.

After that Alex and I went on the hunt for the perfect rose bushes to plant in our little flower bed but it was to no avail. We went to Home Depot (we found one bush that had roses that smelled like dusting polish-weird) and Lowes and then to this private nursery where there were some beautiful bushes but they had sold all the ones that I wanted. Oh well, I will try again next weekend.

Then Alex and I played tennis for about an hour (I won!) We were playing in the next court over from two West Metro Fire Fighters. The courts happen to be right next to station 10 so sometimes they play tennis to keep active while not on call. I recognized one of the guys as the Captain at station 10 that I have worked with a couple times so I ran over and said hi to him and let him know that we lived just down the street. He was happy to see me and even invited me on a ride along! Yippee! I have been dying to go on a ride along-I am just a nerd like that. So I will have to set it up. It will be neat to see the "other" side of the department and help me remember the job that I do on a daily basis really makes a difference.

Then Alex and I headed back to the house to watch the season finally of Survivor. So dramatic! I really wanted Amanda to win but oh well that is T.V. reality shows for you.

All in all a full and fun weekend. I hope yours was just as good.
